We’re not just preparing students for college applications—we’re preparing them for life applications.

Who We Are

We’re the Appli Forward Foundation established in Raleigh, NC. A forward-looking, 501c3 organization built to fuel high school students who feel directionless, under-resourced, or just plain overwhelmed by the “what’s next?” post-graduation question mark.

Think of us as your empathetic hype squad fused with an AI-powered mentorship epicenter.

Our story began in 1997 at Shaw University, where Dante’ Hilton and Jason Sanders first connected and built the foundation of trust, vision, and collaboration that fuels our work today. What started as a friendship has grown into a mission-driven partnership, grounded in a shared belief that every student deserves a clear path forward.

Since then, we’ve tested and proven our approach through pilot programs at Castle Park High School and San Diego State University, and we’re proud to now have a partnership with Riverside Preparatory Academy. Each milestone sharpens our ability to meet students where they are, with tools and mentorship that unlock their potential.

At the heart of our organization are Skylar and Jordan—our 24/7 AI mentors. They’re more than assistants; they’re lifelines, delivering guidance, knowledge, and encouragement whenever students or parents need it most. They keep support accessible, consistent, and personalized—making sure no student walks this journey alone.

Our Purpose

Equip young minds with clarity, confidence, and cutting-edge tools so they don’t just survive the transition from high school—they thrive.

We provide roadmaps that cover every corner of a student’s journey:

  • Mental health & wellness

  • Academic & classroom support

  • Career exploration & development

  • College admissions

  • FAFSA guidance

  • Grants & scholarships

  • Volunteer pathways

  • Trade school, military, and workforce readiness

The Hard Truth

  • Nearly 72% of high school graduates say they feel only moderately, slightly, or not at all prepared for life after high school.

  • In earlier years, that number hovered around 75%, with most students feeling unready for college or career decisions.

  • Fewer than 30% of high schoolers feel “very prepared” to pursue any postsecondary pathway—college, work, or training.

  • Around 18% of teens admit they’re not sure what they plan to do after graduation—no direction at all.

Why It Matters

  • Colleges & universities gain applicants who are focused and ready to succeed.

  • Employers & businesses benefit from a stronger, more skilled talent pipeline.

  • Trade schools & the military welcome recruits who know their purpose and direction.

  • Volunteer organizations connect with students eager to serve with intention.

How We Roll

  • Mentorship: Real human guidance, amplified by Skylar and Jordan’s 24/7 AI support.

  • Peer-to-Peer Support: Students lifting each other through shared experiences.

  • Real-World Prep: Practical skills for life beyond the classroom.

  • Mental Health First-Aid: Resources that put well-being at the center.
